I have always proud to be a clinical podiatrist. I have over 40 years of experience in general practice and as a partner in a busy private practice. For the last 20 years I have also worked as a part time lecturer and researcher at Staffordshire University biomechanics Lab. I am now a visiting Research Fellow. I was instrumental in the production of the post graduate programme particularly the MSc in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics. I am proud to be an inaugural fellow of the College of Podiatry and of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. My academic and research role along with my clinical experience has led me to work with elite athletes and national and international sports teams. I am the podiatrist to Stoke City Football Club and was part of the medical team at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2012. My clinical and research interest is in footwear and the biomechanics of the at-risk foot and I have worked in a variety of related clinical situations notably in association with AR hospital in Chennai, India. I am very proud to have been the Chair of Council and the Board of Governors of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and the College of Podiatry in the UK.
